Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim presents Rs 112 Crore deficit budget

Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Mayor Firhad Hakim unveiled a deficit budget of Rs 112 crore for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget, devoid of new taxes, was presented amid claims by the Mayor that it surpasses its predecessor in quality.

Notably, the corporation managed to recover Rs 650 crore from old disputes through a door-to-door collection initiative. Mayor Hakim, however, admitted the challenge of eliminating the deficit, asserting a commitment to ensuring timely pension disbursement for former employees.
